The automobile wiring harness is the main body of the network of automobile circuit. Without wiring harness, there would be no automobile circuit. Wire harness refers to the connector made of copper, which is pressed with wire and cable, then externally plastic and pressed insulator or metal shell, etc. to form a connecting circuit component by bundling wire harness. Wire harness industry chain includes wire and cable, connector, processing equipment, wiring harness manufacturing and downstream application industries. Wire harness is widely used in automobiles, household appliances, computers and communication equipment, various electronic instruments and meters, etc. The body wiring harness connects the whole body, and its general shape is H-shaped.
Automotive wires, also known as low-voltage wires, are different from ordinary household wires. Common household wires are copper single-core wires with certain hardness. The automotive wires are copper multi-core flexible wires, some of which are as thin as hair. Several or even dozens of flexible copper wires are wrapped in plastic insulating tubes (PVC), which are soft and not easy to break.
Because of the particularity of automobile industry, the manufacturing process of automobile wiring harness is more special than other ordinary wiring harnesses.
The system of manufacturing automobile wiring harness can be roughly divided into two categories:
1. By European and American countries, including China:
TS16949 system is used to control the manufacturing process.
2. Mainly in Japan:
For example, Toyota and Honda have their own systems to control the manufacturing process.
With the increase of automotive functions and the widespread application of electronic control technology, more and more electrical components, more and more wires, the harness will become thicker and heavier. Therefore, advanced automobiles introduce CAN bus configuration and adopt multi-channel transmission system. Compared with traditional wiring harness, multi-channel transmission device greatly reduces the number of wires and connectors, making wiring more simple.
